After its inception, ETSA organized its first ever student's event i.e. a debate competition here on Thursday. The event took place at the assembly hall at Pillai's campus. The Debate competition included both Technical as well as NonTechnical topics. The event was a grand success.
8 groups from SE, TE, BE of EXTC & ETRX were formed consisting of 6 members each (2 members from every class). The groups were named after various artificial satellites, viz. Voyager, Mariner, Pioneer, Aryabhatta, Explorer, Sputnik, Phoenix, and Apollo.
The distinguished jury included Dr. Panda, Dr. Goyal , and Dr. Joshi from Pillai’s Research wing and Prof. Varma (HOD, IT Dept., PCE). Prof. Suman Wadkar (HOD, EXTC dept., PCE) and Prof. Shravani Shahapure played a major role in the organizing this event. The 1st round of debate was Non-Technical while the 2nd round was Technical. Technical Topics were given beforehand to ensure that students make the necessary research and present themselves well. All the rounds were very close and neck-to-neck. Final debate took place on ‘IPL controversy’. Beating the Odds, Aryabhatta came out winning. Participants as well as winners were awarded certificates. The Jury praised the level of competition and gave useful tips saying, “To Win, The participation of entire group is essential and not a single horse pulling the entire carriage”.
The event ended with vote of thanks given by Prof. Jayshree Bhosale
With this event a success, ETSA got the necessary motivation to do bigger and better.
